Kollegewidgwok Yacht Club
Blue Hill, Maine

Dear Members, Friends and Those Who Just Happened on Us,

This lovely picture of our anchorage and Blue Hill at sunset welcomes you to our web site as warmly, we hope, as the club welcomes members, friends and those who just sail up Blue Hill Bay looking for an anchorage for the night. Follow the links and find out more about the club: its history, its sailing school, its calendar.

Of course, before you go one click farther you'll want to know how to pronounce our name. If you already know, you can skip this part.

Kollegewidgwok: say "college," then "widge" then "walk," all as one smooth mouthful, without particularly accenting any one syllable. There are dissenters, even among members, who say "college-ah-widge-ah-walk," but as the years go by the ahs and uhs are getting scarcer. One smooth word: Kollegewidgwok. If you are very curious about such things, you can read the club history and find out what it means.

Now that you speak the local language, onward!
